Trains in the Garden
Discover running models of the old iron horses or modern diesel locomotives in
your backyard. Discuss many of the options available and some pitfalls to avoid.
Emphasis will be on G-scale trains, which are large models designed to run
outdoors.
The first two class sessions will be held at the ACC Campus and the last class
will be held at The Hudson Gardens.

Vegetables and Herbs for Colorado
What do you grow from seed and what do you buy as a plant? How do you
protect your garden from rodents? How deep do you plant your tomatoes? What do
you plant in containers or in the ground? All of these questions will be
answered to get you started on the right path to a successful vegetable and herb
garden.
Classes are held in the Hudson Residence, a one-story home located northwest of

Container Planting Workshops
Tired of the same old annual plantings? Discover new ways to take your container
gardens to the next level by joining Annie Huston, co-founder of Columbine
Design, for this hands-on experience creating gorgeous flower combinations that
will thrive all summer long. Please bring a garden pot (18” in diameter or
smaller) and gardening gloves – we’ll provide the plants, accessories, soil and
expertise. You’ll leave this workshop with a beautiful container garden and a
new perspective on planting annuals!
Class will be held on the Hudson Café patio (near the Garden Railroad). Meet the
instructor in front of the Gift Shop 10 minutes prior to class start time.

Registration: $45/person per workshop (choose either sun or shade workshop).

Feng Shui in The Garden
Learn about changing your outdoor living space that makes you and your
visitors feel warm and welcome! Learn the principles of Feng Shui and how they
apply to The Garden, and how to use the Feng Shui map (Ba-gua) to design your
garden and improve its energy and abundance.

Wood Carving
By carving wildlife such as birds, animals, fish, etc. learn the steps of
woodcarving including roughing out, relieving, texturing, painting and mounting.
Selection of wood and tools will be covered. Depending on your project,
materials fee will vary. Bring a drop cloth.

Intro to Floral Design Principles
Discover how to put flowers together in an arrangement using simple design
principles to get the best look. Explore proportion, scale, focal points, rhythm
and harmony. Understand shape and flower placement so your design will look as
good as the professionals.

Creating Moss Basket Gardens
So how do you get plants to drape and drizzle all over those baskets? Create
a gorgeous hanging basket by discovering the hows and whys of moss basket
planting and then plant one yourself tp take home. Bring a garden cutting knife
or shears.

International Chocolate and Wine Pairing
International speaker and Colorado author Julie Pech (The Chocolate Therapist)
hosts this unique pairings evening, beginning with a sampling of chocolates from
five different countries.
Discover how chocolate is made

Hone your chocolate connoisseur skills

Compare and contrast different flavors, nuances and textures of chocolate

Enjoy a custom chocolate and wine pairing.
Four artisal wines from around the world are paired with specially selected
chocolates infused with nuts, spices and berries-chosen for their ability to
enhance the flavors of both the chocolate and the wine. Receive an information
folder highlighting which chocolates were served and where to buy them. Receive
a “goodie” bag and bring home extra chocolates from the lavish collection
offered. A copy of Julie’s book and a dark organic chocolate bar is also
included.

variety of teas with infused chocolates. Class fee includes a copy of Julie’s

Come learn about composition, value, color and techniques of pastel while
capturing the beautiful surroundings and atmosphere of Hudson Gardens. No
