How far in advance should I book my field trip?
It is recommended that groups schedule a visit at least one month in advance to ensure your preferred field trip date and program. Field trip reservations fill up quickly for dates in May and October, so please plan ahead.
How will I know that my requested date is confirmed?
If Hudson Gardens is able to accommodate your field trip request, you can expect a field trip confirmation email within two to three business days of placing your online request. If we are unable to accommodate your requested date or program, a Hudson Gardens representative will contact you via phone or email to discuss alternative availability.
How do I book a field trip program?You may reserve a field trip program by submitting a field trip reservation request online or by calling the Education Department at (303) 797-8565 ext. 306.
How many students can I bring at one time?
Hudson Gardens has many wide-open spaces and can accommodate up to 200 students per day.
What if the number of students or chaperones for my field trip changes after I have made my reservation?
Please call the Education Department at (303) 797-8565 ext. 306 to make changes to your reservation. Hudson Gardens will accommodate changes when possible. A revised field trip confirmation reflecting any changes and a new cost estimate will be sent to you via email.
What is the chaperone policy for field trips?
At least one chaperone per ten students is required for all field trip visits. Additional chaperones are strongly recommended. All chaperones, including teachers and accompanying parents, should review the Chaperone Guide prior to visiting Hudson Gardens.
Do you offer programs for homeschool groups?
Homeschool groups are welcome to partake in any of Hudson Gardens’ field trip programming, including Self-Directed Visits, Activity Pack Programs, and Guided Programs. All homeschool group visits of five children or more require reservations. Contact the Education Department at (303) 797-8565 ext. 306 to learn more about the specialized homeschool programs offered at Hudson Gardens.
Why are there admission and program fees for school and youth group field trips when general public admission is free?The administrative and program fees for field trips assists Hudson Gardens with scheduling and coordination of your group to ensure a successful and safe visit as well as supporting the development of program curriculum and educational features throughout The Gardens.
Is financial assistance available to help with the cost of a field trip to Hudson Gardens?
Yes; Hudson Gardens offers financial assistance, including reduced program fees and transportation scholarships, to schools and organizations serving populations of 50% or more FRLE. Does Hudson Gardens have any indoor facilities? What happens if it rains?
All of Hudson Gardens’ field trip facilities are outdoors, including picnic areas for lunch. It is recommended that your group dress appropriately for the weather and season.
Can I visit Hudson Gardens prior to my field trip?
Yes. Teachers are encouraged to visit Hudson Gardens so that they can prepare for their field trips. General public admission to Hudson Gardens is free. If availability allows, teachers are welcome to preview Activity Packs within the Welcome Center during their pre-visit.

Book a Field Trip
All school and youth group visits require reservations. To book your date and time please submit a field trip reservation request online.
Pricing and Payment
The price of a field trip is determined by the activity or program you choose for your visit to Hudson Gardens. An estimated cost of your visit will be provided with your field trip confirmation.
Payment for field trip visits is due upon arrival. Select programs require a deposit prior to your visit. Cash, checks (made out to The Hudson Gardens & Event Center), and all major credit cards are accepted.
Hudson Gardens is committed to making sure that all schools and organizations have the opportunity to visit. Financial assistance, including program fee, admission discounts, and transportation scholarships are available for qualifying schools and organizations. Transportation scholarships have been generously provided by FirstBank.

At least one chaperone is required per 10 students for all field trips and additional chaperones are strongly recommended.
You are welcome to bring snacks and/or lunches on your visit. Outdoor picnic tables and seating areas are available on a first-come, first-served basis. A climate-controlled area is available for lunch storage.
Ample bus parking is available. Vans and buses may park on the far east side of the main parking lot or in the south parking lot. Parents and chaperones may park in the main parking lot.
Upon Your Arrival to Hudson Gardens
Please drop off your students in front of the Welcome Center. A Hudson Gardens representative will greet your group when you arrive. Please come prepared with exact attendance counts for your number of students and chaperones.
