Join us for a hands-on journey into the world of medicinal herbs that thrive in Colorado’s climate. In this workshop, you’ll discover how to grow and use powerful herbs like soothing chamomile and immune-boosting echinacea right in your own garden. Learn how these natural remedies can promote wellness, support relaxation, and boost your body’s healing process.
The workshop will include a guided tour of Hudson Garden’s herb garden, where you’ll get an up-close look at these plants in their natural habitat. We’ll cover everything from planting and harvesting to creating simple herbal remedies.
One special highlight: you’ll learn how to make herbal honey—a sweet and therapeutic addition to your home apothecary.
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with practical knowledge of herbal gardening and your very own jar of homemade herbal honey to support your well-being, plus a deeper appreciation for the healing power of nature.
About the Instructor:
Hello…I am Kirsten Dehmlow. I am a daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Flowers and herbs have been an interest of mine for as long as I can remember. Everywhere I have lived I have found a plot of dirt to plant. During my first pregnancy I began building my library of books on using herbs. In the summer of 2020 I began my official training to become a community herbalist. I am dedicated to continue growing and learning how herbs heal and provide support physically, emotionally and spiritually.
I have been a childbirth educator for over 15 years and have also worked as a labor doula for many years. I was the Parent Education Coordinator at a hospital in Denver for over 13 years. I love educating and supporting families and am excited to add my knowledge of herbs as a focus of support.
Helping women as they enter and progress through life transitions has been a continual focus in my work. Now I love adding herbs and Maya abdominal therapy as additional nourishing support. I offer one on one consultations, classes and herbal products: teas, tinctures, salves and essential oils.
